Vision Statement (Why We exist)

"TO KNOW JESUS, MAKE HIM KNOWN, AND GATHER IN HIS NAME.

• "That I may know Him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings" (phil 3:10).

• "Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel" (Eph 6:19).

• "When they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all theing that God had done with them and how He had openedd a door of faith to the Gentiles" (Acts 14:27).

PPurpose Statement ( What We Do)

The purpose fo First Baptist Church, Oakhurst is to share the good news with the world- that Jeus Christ died for our sins and rose again 

(I Cor 15:1-4)--by enthusiastically training and encouraging believers to a zeal for Jesus so that they would...

• Tell our world about Jesus: EVANGELISM "Then He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation" (Mark 16:15).

• Bring believers into our family: FELLOWSHIP " And let us be concered about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away form our (worship) meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging eachother, and all the more as you see the day drawing near" (Heb 10:24-25).

• Teach our family God's Word: DISCIPLESHIP "All Scripture by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work" (Tim 3:16-17). "Like newborn infants, desire the spiritual milk, so that you may grow by it for [your] salvation" (Peter 2:2).

• Praise God with our family: WORSHIP "Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah!" (Psalms 150:6). "But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him" (John 4:23). "Praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were bing saved" (Acts 2:47).

• Send our family into God's work: MINISTRY (INSIDE) AND MISSIONS (OUTSIDE)

  • MINISTRY (inside) "But now God has placed each one of the parts in one body just as He wanted...So that therer would be no divison in the the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other.

  • MISSION (outside)" As they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work I have called therm to." Then after they had fasted, prayed, and laid hands on them they sent them off (Acs 13L:2-3)."
